Opportunities Ahead

Last Year

It was just over a year ago that we held our first Community Partner meeting for the Trauma Healing Center! We were excited to see over 30 organizations represented from all over the Kansas City area, many of whom were looking for connection and community. As the events of 2020 progressed, we felt it was necessary to focus our efforts on prayer for the community and helping those in our immediate reach.

Now that we are well into 2021, and the season for our community is shifting again, it is time to get everyone back in the loop in the progress of the Healing Center!

Over the past 15 months, we have continued to grow in relationship with many in our community and abroad. The Lord has brought many resources to our attention to help those in need. We have also continued to receive much prayer and financial support to continue to prepare for the launch of the Trauma Healing Center. The support we have received has been invaluable! We have also refined the programs we will be offering, and we are excited to share the details with you in future blogs.

Where We Are Now

As you may know, our goal is to increase the effectiveness of ministries all over Kansas City through relational connection, community awareness, and referrals from the Healing Center. Over the month of May, we will be discussing several of our primary programs right here on our website. We will give you details about the programs, information on who the programs will benefit, and guidance on how you can be involved.

Next week, we will tell you about the Personal Assessments we will be offering. This will be an excellent resource for individuals, churches, hospitals, and other organizations who do not already have an assessment process in place for those in need of spiritual and emotional support. Following that, we will introduce our Crisis Response plans. This will be an amazing opportunity to help the community in a unified manner in the times when our community as a whole needs it most. Both the Personal Assessment and Crisis Response will focus on our Community Partners and the many resources available all around us. We will wrap up the month describing some of the In-House Services we will be offering at the Trauma Healing Center.

Opportunities for Connection

While our website will be an excellent source for staying up-to-date on our progress, we would also like to offer some in-person options as well. On May 21st from 9:00 - 10:30am, we will be hosting our first monthly meeting for those who are helping the community in some way. Whether you are a counselor, first responder, social worker, teacher, or you work at another type of organization providing services to those in need, you are welcome to attend! We will begin with a brief update on the Healing Center, followed by a few words of encouragement from Melissa Finger, and ending with a time of prayer for each other and the community.

Then on May 22nd from 10:00am - 11:00am (weather permitting) we will have a prayer walk on our property. You can come and go as you please during this time. We will have a tent set up, and a path where you can walk around the property and pray for the community, the Healing Center, or whatever else the Lord may put on your heart that day.

If you would like to attend either (or both) of these informal events, please see below for the details.

We desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need of direction, healing, and support. Please join us and many others who already making a difference in our community. Stay connection to all that is happening right here at www.traumahealingcenterkc.com!
